Concierge Licensing for Occupational Therapists

Whether you are moving, taking a travel contract, or want to see patients in more than one state, we handle your OT or OTA license from start to finish: a license by endorsement or a full application, OT Compact readiness where the compact is live (you apply, we get you ready), and every renewal after that.

We handle the paperwork, the verifications and the board follow-up so you can keep seeing clients.

Our White-Glove Licensing Process

1. Eligibility Screening, Before You Pay Anything

We map where you live, where you are licensed, and where your patients or next contract are. Then we sort every target state into a route: an OT Compact privilege where both states are issuing, a license by endorsement, or a full application. We check what stalls OT files before you spend a non-refundable fee: NBCOT status, OTA supervision rules, jurisprudence exams, fingerprints, and school or advanced-practice credentials.

2. Applications, Privileges and Verifications

For licenses, we file and drive everything the board needs: your NBCOT score transfer, transcripts, verifications from every board you have held a license with, fingerprints and any state law exam. For compact privileges, the Commission requires you to apply yourself, so we prepare the file, coordinate the FBI background check and sit with you while you submit in CompactConnect.

3. Renewals, CE and Privileges

Every license renews on its own date with its own continuing competence rules, and compact privileges expire with your home license. We keep one calendar for all of them, log CE against each state's requirements, and remind you to repurchase privileges when your home license renews.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who do you serve?

Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants getting licensed in a new state or for the first time, and the agencies and practices that employ them. Physical therapists are served by our sister team at whiteglovedpt.com.

What is the OT Compact?

An agreement among member states that lets an OT or OTA licensed in their home state practice in another member state on a privilege to practice, instead of a second full license. Each privilege is for one state and depends on your home license. Where it stands.

Can I use the OT Compact yet?

Only if both your home state and the state you want are issuing privileges. Thirty-seven states have enacted the compact, but only some are issuing. California, New York, Texas and Florida are not members.

Can you apply for my compact privilege for me?

No, and nobody can. The Compact Commission requires you to complete and pay for the application yourself. We check your eligibility, coordinate the FBI background check, prepare you for any jurisprudence exam, and sit with you while you apply.

Will I need to retake the NBCOT exam?

No. States accept your passing NBCOT result; you have NBCOT send your score to the new board. NBCOT certification and a state license are separate, and renewing one does not renew the other.

Do you handle insurance credentialing and Medicare?

No. A license and payer enrollment are separate processes. Our sister team at whiteglovecredentialing.com enrolls OTs with Medicare and commercial payers once the license is issued.

Do you work with travel OTs?

Yes. Many travel agencies help with licensing for their own assignments; we cover what they do not, such as states between contracts, compact privileges you file yourself, and keeping every license renewed after the assignment ends.

Do you only handle one state, or every state I hold?

Either. Most OTs come to us for one state and stay for renewals, because every license has its own renewal date and continuing competence rules, and one calendar for all of them is easier than several.

Who We Are

White Glove OT takes the paperwork out of licensing for occupational therapists and OTAs. We run it end to end: your NBCOT score sent to the new board, transcripts from your OT program, verification of every license you have held, fingerprints, and the state law exam where one is required.

The OT Compact is changing the map, one state at a time. Thirty-seven states have enacted it, but only some are issuing privileges, and California, New York, Texas and Florida have not joined. So we use a privilege where it works, a license where it does not, and tell you which before you pay a fee.

From intake to issued license, we carry the board correspondence and keep every renewal, continuing competence deadline and privilege on one calendar, so nothing lapses underneath your caseload.

Built for clinicians who value speed

Why We Built This

Licensing delays have real costs — a start date missed, a caseload that cannot open, a payer contract that stalls behind a credential.

37

states that have enacted the OT Compact

Only some are issuing privileges so far, and California, New York, Texas and Florida are not members. Everywhere the compact does not reach, a state license is still the route.

0

third parties allowed to file your compact privilege

The Commission requires every OT and OTA to complete and pay for the privilege application personally. We prepare you and sit with you while you do; we never file it for you.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects 15% growth over the decade to 2035, with travel, home health and school settings moving OTs across state lines.

"Licensing in a new state looks simple from the outside: send the license, start seeing patients. In practice it is a chain of dependencies: an NBCOT score the board has to receive directly, a jurisprudence exam, fingerprints, an OTA supervision form, a compact privilege only you can file. Any one of them can cost an OT a contract. We built White Glove OT to hold that whole chain so therapists do not have to."
